going to put a board for the top today for the cover

did see more activity at the feeders,,the male broad tailed and the female black chinned hover for a few and was singing like crazy,,thats how i knew it was a black chinned,,had a thought it was anyway

had a female anna and male black chinned show up to the main feeder

no fruit flys in the hanging banana plate yet but there going into liquid somewhat on the bottom

the male broadtailed is staying around still and maybe a juvenile was at the other feeder..it had a little fluffy gray on the tail feathers but was a quick look at it

Monday, May 07, 2012

yesterday

the male broadtailed came a few times and seems to be favoring the saucer
the female or young juvenile not sure now seeing this one looked thinner paid a visit a few times

dug some more around the trumpet creeper for the water to hold there

and took away the flagstone from the rose bush and put the banana peels at the base
its looking better with leaves on it at least

trumpet creeper

5/4 no birds were seen

yesterday i went and bought a trumpet creeper "Balboa Sunset" at  Watters Garden for $16.39 after tax
was a little smaller than there $30.00 pots but will grow
i put  a bunch of banana peels under it for fertilizer

and i put up a hanging plate with a plateful of bananas to see if any fruit flies produce out of that at all
and see if any birds try just eating them

going to open up some space around the rosebush i'm trying to revive,,it has flagstone it seems around it,,which it won't be for long

and the male broad tailed seems to only feed at the saucer and even came over to the window to find it there where it was placed before

the female black chinned  has come back a few times to feed too yesterday
