well you folks missed out on a great event

myself and jim my co mod showed up at 1PM and didn't leave till 3

if someone wants a list of all who were there i can type it up

but a quick run down of who we talked with

1ST was the search and rescue unit curt kb6sss was manning the unit
had a nice chat with him and got to look at everything they had in there

2nd was the ARES/ham radio van and saw lloyd wa6zzj and met mary ab7nk
nice chat with both of them got to see a couple new radios in there

3rd was the mobile command posse unit met a couple nice guys in there
got the grand tour

they had radios going and the flir unit pointing toward the crowd of ppl

4th lifeline ambulance had an informative chat with ethan about there
radio system
they do have there simplex tac freqs programmed in and want to use
them in the future
the reason they don't is when dispatch calls or anyone on the dispatch
freq it reverts back on there priority
so in the future it might be handy to have those in to listen

chino valley had brush 61 type 3 there i'm guessing no markings on it

forest service had some vehicles there

water tender 51 was there quite a big truck when your up close to that

prescott had there new cafs "compressed air foam supresssion" unit there

a few ppl from wildland fire groups one guy was from texas

some old fire engines prescott and congress

cyfd had there flame scheme truck out there and we were counting on
how many $200 leds were on there $1200 for just a parade truck

went up top and they had a 20 minute video on the indian fire saw part
of that and it was worth going there just to see the video of water
and slurry drops

so it was well worth going there if they have it next year

didn't hear anyone on 146.400 or frs ch 1 462.5625
gave out calls saw a couple ppl with frs and uniden scannners but no
one talking

so i call Ali and left a msg sunday no call back

so i started to call the dad and mom

got hold of mom and she knew the story and her son josh owned the phone but it was in Ali's name

josh came by and picked it up

he was having a bad night

so now it all makes sense of why someone would try to break a cellphone

2 kids white jeep / cellphone

so this morning at around 2:45 AM these 2 kids pull up in a white jeep

thought it was kinda strange seeing the time and parking in front of my house but hey everyone parks out front

so they go up to the apts come back and hang out for a few minutes

then i hear a crash and something slide on the ground

i hear another crash and the fiddle around the dash with a light and leave trying to run over this phone i found out after

i go out there had to get the mail anyway and come back in the house

was talking with jon and spotted something black and shiny in front of dave's driveway

i go out find a sprint cell phone in 3 pieces

put it back together and it works and it has power

so i turn it on look in the history a few calls one from PPD wondered what went on there

found a dad's number called him around 3 AM tell him the story and says its Ali's phone

call Ali and she says to call her in the morning

left msg awaiting a callback

well i myself just got back from cordes lakes and found a good high
spot on Brahma drive {actually its where i ended up for work} and
could overlook all of the area there

flags blowing in the area were showing a northwesterly wind but the
fire is creeping down the front sides of the mountains

the closest part burning is about 2 miles away and the head of what
looked to be the main part was south of town with alot of smoke on the
otherside of a mountain with some fire creeping also on the southwest
side toward the highway

well a tom unit came by and wrote up the paperwork left it on the dash and requested a tow
Nastow #15 with the wheel lift came by hooked up on the back and strapped on
unblocked the wheels and started to tow until the truck went up on the sidewalk and almost took out my mailbox
he backed up off the sidewalk and towed it sideways down the road

well had PD come by to red tag the truck thats been blocking my mailbox for the past week

Tom 196 was quick and a pro to write it out

he also nabbed some dumbfuck riding a pocket bike going by
the guy was giving him a run around of where he got it and didn't know he couldn't ride it on the road
